When the hits just keep coming....

You know what I mean sometimes it seems like everything keeps getting harder and those around you are expecting even more than you can give.

That can be a time when burn out is about to happen.

Where's the joy?

Why did I start doing this?

Am I still in the right place along with my dreams?

Now what do you do when you may come to dread what you loved?

  • Look through your earliest work and remember what you loved about it.
  • Write a "creative mission statement"--one sentence that captures why you are doing this.
  • Reframe your work not just as service to clients, but as storytelling that reveals truth, emoting, or beauty.

For example: "I photograph people not to make them look perfect, but to help them see their own light."

This helps me so much to get back to my root dream and how I want to feel about my work.  Yes, I want to please my clients, and this statement helps me remember to tell my clients what I do to make the authentic to their audience.

Take the time you need to reflect on your why--before the burn out happens.

Have Joy!

Pamela
